I find some details about MVA ASIA and its future projects in Pakistan especially its contribuitions towards the Lahore Mass Transit Project. The most important thing it mentions, is that how the section of LRMTS has been redesign where it has a clash with the Elevated Expressway Project. MVA, therefore, also undertook a study of the road project to develop designs that could accomodate both road and MRT along the same corridor.

How could this project worth Pak Rupee (2 trillion) feasible in Pakistan (Only One Route, MVA suggested 3 more Routes). Total revenue earnings of Pakistan for the fiscal year 2008 are only (1 trillion) PKR. You decide....
Tayyab! You really raise nice questions but these figures are the fact. Work on this project was started in 2006, I am preparing the feasibiltiy and all such matters, and Asian Development Bank has already spent around 10 million dollar for faesibilty and study reports. So all the funds are definitely be managed by ADB and they will be the beneficaries in case this project is completed.

I've raised these question as I was part of SYSTRA/MVA Team. I know whats happening. How they are doing, what they are doing.
In my personal view when you hire international Firms they charged you huge amounts compare to Locals, but we know Locals can't do job well & on time.
The Dilemma of our Country is we import Services not go for Transfer of Technology.

You are right this is indeed the dilemma of us to never think of making ourselves skilled. Just rely on others to do for us and we just sit and sign on papers.

As long as Shahbaz Shaif is in power LRMTS project is shelved. He says immediate solution to resolve Lahore Traffic, with the amount of PKR. 40-50 Billion Lahore Traffic System can be overhauled in just 3-4 years time by running 7000+ CNG buses & widening of Roads. Compare to LRMTS which will take 15-20 Years and only cover 4 Routes worth PKR. 1,000/- Billion.
One inside info is that SYSTRA/MVA still working in background and hoping / confident that Governor, Salman Taseer topple Shahbaz Sharif government and they will join hands with PPP & PML(Q) coalition.
O My God You really told a very bad news. All our eyes were on this project and if its shelved by Chief Minister than indeed ironic. But I think he himself now realize the importance of this project. He has discussed about this project with Chineese companies for the viability of this system. So Im not sure what is still in his mind. But I dont think that changing his government will let this project be implemented.
and I have also heard that The Mubarak Center Project on Ferozpur Road has also been designed keeping in view this LRMTS project and the mangament of this mega building project has informed Shahbaz Sharif that if he is going to make Lahore Expressway than they have to abondon the Mubarak center project which simply i out of question for the Punjab Govt. So I hop its not so easy now for him to abondon this project so easily. I have also a post about the same news here in my previous pages.

The Mubarak center project is temporary due to shifting of their contractor or may be due to some financial prob in Dubai.the news is conformed.
